Philrays International is dedicated to educating medical practitioners on foot biomechanics and the use of orthotics to help their patients. We have been conducting seminars and training sessions for small and large groups since 2007.

These events are conducted by Medical directors or Podiatrist from leading Universities around the world, who conduct both theory and practical workshops over a days seminar.

The course material would normally cover the following ;

09.50-10.30    The key functional segments of the foot and ankle
10.30-10.50    Coffee
10.50-11.30    Static and dynamic examination of the foot and ankle
11.30-12.30    Abnormal foot function and intrinsic foot pathology
12.30-13.30    Lunch
13.30-14.30    Abnormal foot function and proximal limb pathology
14.30-16.00    Selection, fitting & heat moulding of orthoses
16.00-16.30    Discussion forum

John Veto is one of our regular speakers, John graduated with a degree in podiatry from Glasgow Caledonian University in 1997. He then went on to complete an MSc in Sports Medicine at the University of Glasgow. Currently a lecturer in Podiatry at QMU Edinburgh teaching biomechanics to both undergraduate and post graduate students.

He is the programme director for the MSc Theory of Podiatric Surgery, a programme accredited by the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh which provides the theoretical underpinning for those podiatrists specialising in foot surgery.

In addition to his academic role he works as part of a multidisciplinary orthopaedic team at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh managing a variety of complex foot pathologies.
